My first assignment for BFIC.com was at one of the new dining hotspots in Shanghai; The Master Curry at Zhong Shan Park’s Long Zhi Meng Shopping Centre, very conveniently situated near Zhong Shan Park’s metro and pearl line stations, on the 6th floor of the shopping centre.
Located in the recently redeveloped Nanluoguxiang, a mixed use neighborhood of shops, bars, restaurants and residences, is the Indian restaurant Mirch Masala. We were met by it's owner Daya Shanker, originally from Delhi and a passionate veteran of Beijing's restaurant scene.
I have always believed that food is a very important part of culture; since I love India’s colorful culture, I am definitely fascinated by it’s food. Whenever we consider Indian food we automatically think of curry. Every Indian dish can use more than 10 different spices. That’s why when you taste Indian food you can’t help but feel like you’ve entered charmed territory.
Good wine needs no promotion, one will go a great distance for good wine. It is very true in this story today. Indian cuisine has been loved for ages by world citizens. If you are in Beijing, you can find such enjoyable Indian food near Drum Bell Tower. The grey restaurant front is very simple and clean, and is located in the Hu Tong area. The front door still keeps it's original look.
