Bringing the cuisine, ambience, and historical significance of China’s Yunnan region to Beijing, the Crowne Plaza Sun Palace’s Rainbow restaurant truly delivers.
Cuisine Style: Yunnan Folk Cuisine
Ambience / Interior:
This three-storey bungalow has a bar and lounge throughout the ground floor and dining halls on the second and third floors. Cosy alcoves, red lanterns and gilded wall hangings lend a mysterious ambience to this bar, while a wall of Dao face masks explains why the bar is called The Mask Bar.
“With a name like Club Camp, it has to be a gay-friendly restaurant,” I said to myself as I got out of a taxi, just by Destination. After crossing the road, taking the glass elevator to the sixth floor, and stepping out into the flamboyant lobby, the place seemed to be living up to its name - it was, dare I say, a little “effeminate”.
