It is an INSTITUTION.
If you want to dine at a place known for its authentic blend of Macau-Portuguese food, with a tradition of over 100 years, than Fat Siu Lau is the only place to go. In fact, it is not only one of the oldest restaurants in Macau but is an INSTITUTION and quite simply a must.
Established in 1903, by Mr. Wong Man Sing, the first Restaurant Fat Siu Lau was located in a two-storey wooden building at Trav. Do Matadouro, Macau and was later expanded and relocated to Rua da Felicidade (the historical red light district), where it is still located today.
It will be difficult to top this paramount example of five star dining.
A design of mauves, grays, and burgundies and a sleekness of lines impress upon you the Iberian atmosphere. Dimly lit and sound proofed from the loud streets, the relaxing rhythm sets in quickly to your weary body.
For centuries, Macao has been the stronghold of Portuguese culture in China. With the opening of the Wangfujing Legendale Hotel at Jinbao street, now food lovers in Beijing can enjoy their share of high quality culinary treats from Portugal, and Macao in particular.
Upon the arrival in this restaurant, we were immediately charmed by the beautiful building, a former staple house, dated beginning of the 20th century. On the ground floor you will find this new Portuguese restaurant, called NUVEM. When entering the restaurant, your attention will be drawn to nice looking typical Portuguese hams displayed in the middle of the room.
