A great place to take visitors for an adventure to an out of the way place hiding great Chinese food.
First of all, this place is difficult to find. The best way to get there is to walk up from Tongan Li subway through Exit A, and walk up Dondaqiao to the Guanghua Road intersection. Then turn right and walk just past the big Soho mall. Immediately go into the small side alley next to it, and then take a left and keep turning till you see Upper Room.
Everyone has a different idea of paradise. For some, a harem of virgin maidens is prerequisite, others envision a world of everlasting peace. Whatever your viewpoint, there's one feature that everyone agrees on: paradise is made of chocolate. Lucky for us, this week a large chunk of paradise has arrived in Shanghai. It goes by the name of Salon du Chocolat. Beginning with a glitzy opening ceremony on Wednesday evening, the world's largest chocolate show runs until Saturday 23rd, transforming the Shanghai Exhibition Centre a giant box of delights.
If you’re craving the cozy, festive atmosphere of the holiday season, look no further than Aroma Restaurant at the Holiday Inn. Dedicatedly decked out from head to toe in holiday cheer, Holiday Inn is chock full of goodies ranging from German chocolate Santas to adorable gingerbread houses strewn around the hotel. Entering Aroma was a nostalgic experience for someone who had been dearly missing Christmas songs and reindeers. Located on the second floor of the hotel, Aroma sets the holiday mood with Santa outfits on the waitresses and beautiful live renditions of Christmas music.
Olive Cafe -- A Place to eat holistically
Olive Cafe is not what you would expect. Revamped by seasoned chef Christelle Helf in 2009, into a healthy lifestyle concept, this is the place for holistic dining, and perfect to visit after a yoga or meditation session. It will only add to the sense of enlightenment and peace you feel.
Comptoirs de France Bakery – A Little Taste of French Heaven
Comptoirs de France Bakery has stated that this is the place to discover real quality goods and the true taste of France. They are not lying, and that is all I need to say.
Comptoirs de France is the only bakery in Beijing to boast French ownership. That's right, all the other “Paris” cafes and pastry shops are in fact Korean owned, and so forth. Hence, that is why it is dreadfully difficult to find authentic and dreamy French pastries and bread.
Imagine a restaurant where you give back to the community while you munch on healthy San Francisco treats? Not only would you feel good about your food but good about yourself. San Francisco eatz is giving folks the opportunity to feel progressive and fit with its California style mentality towards food and people.
When the second location of Coffee Tree on Fumin Lu and Chang Le Lu closed down, I felt that it was a setback that I could not indulge in one of their delicious coffees, salads or sandwiches during my lunch break. However, I was grateful to receive news that the first location, nestled within Ferguson Lane on Wukang Lu in the beautifully quaint northwest French concession, had just reopened with a “new-and-improved” menu.
1228 Med Restaurant and Bar represents what I think a neighbourhood restaurant should be – somewhere that makes tasty but unfussy food.
In the world of fast food desserts Beard Papa has always stood above the crowd. The concept for the chain is really quite basic; take a freshly baked pastry and fill it with flavored cream. Although simple, the recipe still never fails to satisfy. At the Beard Papa stand in the basement of Isetan three flavors of filling are generally “on tap”; vanilla, chocolate and green tea. The Isetan branch currently has strawberry as well.
Seasonal fruit enhanced with Japanese style.
Tianjin has its fair share of locally-based dessert shops but we wanted to explore the world of newly imported dessert chains here in Tianjin, so we visited the Japanese Natural Beauty, in the basement of the Isetan Shopping Center.
