Set in an extravagant venue, the restaurant offers you a welcome in both its large halls and its myriad of private rooms. There is also a stage where plays are presented every Thursday to Saturday.
The Shanghai chef here entertains diners with a wide array of dishes that range from traditional Chinese to re-invented Western—style food. The quality of the ingredients is high, and the presentation well arranged. The price range is also wide enough to accommodate all pockets. Among the appetizers, the pork in aspic and an optional variant with chicken and lemon are both refreshing and elegant. They are both served cut into regular cubes, with the gelatine and its contents displaying delightful contrasts of colors. The tofu braised with mushroom is also sweet, but just to exactly the right point. The king
prawns in fermented rice sauce are firm and pleasant, and the gingseng soup with duck too feels very rich. The desserts list is very traditional and focuses on sweet dumplings, so keep some space if you want to indulge yourself at the end of the night.
The menu embraces red and white wines (mainly from China),but a few famous French houses are also listed.
The staffs here are quick, efficient and knowledgeable. They will definitely inform you when you over-order, which will certainly save you money.
