Village Guest House

It black bricks and white walls are the traditional hallmarks of the Village Guest House. This ethnically – styled restaurant, managed by genuine Guizhou staff, will arrest your interest instantly.

The variety of spices adopted here are unique to Guizhou food. Eight different kinds of spice create distntinctive flavors and appearance in such staples as pickled cabbage, garlic, pepper. Not that al the dishes are that spicy. The Guizhou native chicken, cooked in a purple sand casserole, is made by steaming chicken without water. Again for the spice-wary, the Wujiang fish in sour soup proves not to be hot at all. Embodying both a wild tomato soup and fermented rice water, the ingredients also include sour cabbage, bean sprout, and Flammulina velutiper. Other recommended dishes include fried chicken slices with Huaxi bean curd and fried lobster with pickled mustard-greens.

50-year Maotai, 92 Dynasty wine, and 12-year classic Shikumen rice wine.

The waitresses and waiters are understanding, considerate and smile all the time. They are knowledgeable as to the native Guizhou food and their advice is worth taking.
