Quaintly located inside Ciro Plaza, one can find this café that is dedicated to nothing but the finest quality coffee. My partner and I started our experience with a quick sandwich. Only two types of sandwiches are served, ham and cheese and tuna. It is important to note that this is not a place to get food. Accordingly, the sandwiches which are priced at 25 and 28 rmb are about what you would expect. The real expertise with regards to food is the cakes. My partner and I sampled the cheesecake and the chocolate cake. At 25 rmb for a piece or 250 for a whole cake, a person with a sweet tooth is well taken care of. Both cakes are rich in flavor. The Cheesecake is creamy and the chocolate cake reminds me of my mothers brownies when I was a child. The true pride at L’Apres Midi is the coffee and tea. If you are looking for a strong pick me up in the morning, or a place to sit down during the afternoon, you would be well served by this café. The price for these drinks range from 28-38 rmb. My favorite was the organic cool mint tea from Germany. This tea tasted fresh and natural without tasting too strong. If I lived closer to this café, I could envision it becoming a normal stop on my morning commute. It is recommended that you enjoy your drink on the premises but if needed you can certainly order it to go.
