The Ritz Carlton on Financial Street presents Greenfish, an all-day dining buffet that comfortably seats 100 diners. The spacious dining room is bright and offers a casual and pleasant ambience. Guests who are looking for a hearty yet healthy meal can come here to experience as their culinary team calls it “flexitarian cuisine.” The options are endless from assorted appetizers to a fresh salad bar and its wide variety of fresh seafood imported from Canada, as well as all imported beef from Australia. The cuisine trays are changed every thirty minutes and the carving stations freshly cook their specific dishes every ten to twenty minutes.

For appetizers we started with the swordfish carpaccio with black olive tapenade. The tapanade has a real blast of flavor, though it seems to overpower the fish. Next we tried the wild mushroom with fennel, green bean and olive salad, a healthy but delicious choice, the fresh vegetables were perfect served with light vinaigrette. Try the glass noodles with shrimp salad for a more south east Asian tang. This cold dish reminded me of sweet and spicy Thai salads, the prawns were a decent size and the mix of hot and sweet created a delectable combination of flavors. Highly recommended is the Chinese shark fin soup with fresh enoki mushrooms and spring onion. The broth was thinner than usual but the shredded shark fin meat melts your taste buds. This special Chinese entity brings a classic dish to the table. The next dish tasted was the pan friend salmon fillet with mango salsa, the fish was overcooked and too dry but the salsa on top added some spicy juices.

For the main course you can choose either scallops or lobster. The scallops were humongous, imported from Canada, served with a dark sauce, homemade with brown sugar, Korean gin soy, garlic, leeks, coriander and ginger, the sweet tint brought bold flavors to the seafood. To top it off go try the six different types of delicious caviar, some homemade on premise. Don’t forget to also take a stop at the fresh sashimi carving stations, fresh tuna and salmon dipped in soy and add a bit of wasabi to feed guests fresh protein elements. End your meal with something sweet, the marble cheesecake and white chocolate pistachio mousse cake were the favorites. The pistachio cake is swiveled with white chocolate creating a silky saccharine treat. Also, have a sip of the red wine and pear drink, which is linked to Chinese traditional medicine, this dessert is syrupy with a refreshing mint finish. For fresh, innovative and healthy seafood cuisine Greenfish offers all sorts of dishes to cater to different guests’ palettes.
